The highlight of our week was the orienteering trip to Cannock Chase. We worked in groups mixed with children from The Howard and St Mary’s and had a great time. Fantastic behaviour and teamwork was demonstrated by all. Not all groups were successful in finding all of the checkpoints and some of us were a little disappointed by this. A further orienteering trip is being planned for the summer term which will give us another opportunity to practice our map and compass skills.

In the classroom we have looked more at our statistics unit in maths, finished reports about Charles Darwin in Science and we had a go at writing an alternative ending to The Highwayman poem in English. The writing was tricky because we had to use old language and follow the rhythm and pattern of the poem, but we all worked really hard and produced some fantastic alternative endings.

We finished our half term with some circle time, and a biscuit snack, to talk about the highs and lows of the half term, and our hopes for next half term.
