It has been a great first week back for Class 5. It began on Monday with an early celebration of World Book Day where we participated in many book related activities including a tour of the village in search of books. In English, we have started our new text - ‘Beowulf - by Michael Morpurgo’. In maths, we are working with perimeter, area and volume of shapes.
The highlight of our week, was our trip to York. Once we arrived, we journeyed into the centre of York to the Jorvik Centre. In the Jorvik Centre, we learned much about Vikings’ lives in Britain. We also went on a seated tour of a Viking Village. Next, we headed to the DIG Centre where we become archaeologists and dug for different artifacts. Finally, we attended a workshop where we discovered many interesting facts about the Vikings.
