In maths, both Year 5 and 6 began their decimals topic with a flourish. After recapping the previous year's objectives, they fully engaged with deepening their understanding by learning new concepts and strategies. Many managed to challenge themselves by advancing through their booklets and getting onto a variety of extension activities.

Inspired by the legendary tales of Beowulf, they crafted original stories depicting the heroic exploits of Beowulf as he confronted mythical beasts. Through storytelling and creative writing exercises, they honed their narrative skills and unleashed their imaginations, weaving tales of courage and triumph.

Outdoor Adventures:

The week concluded with an immersive outdoor experience, where students embraced the spirit of Viking culture through games, sagas, and nature-inspired activities. From engaging in traditional Viking games to performing epic sagas under the open sky, they embraced the ethos of adventure and camaraderie. Amidst the verdant landscapes, they also found inspiration in the blooming daffodils, sketching their beauty with great attention to detail.

In Science, everyone was fully engaged in creating their own circuits and experimenting with all the different electrical components. After trialling various circuits of their own, we began learning the symbols that represent each component and tried, with great success to draw our own circuit diagrams in our exercise books. Class 4 are certainly looking forward to their next lesson on the electricity topic!
