It was lovely to welcome the children back on Monday! They have enjoyed the lovely weather and have been keen to play outside this week. We were all excited to see that the potatoes and sunflowers have grown. Our gardening monitors have been busy watering the plants everyday.
In monster phonics the children have been spelling words containing the sound air. They have been practising spelling words such as chair, stairs, lair, fair, hair and pair.
The children watched a video about wild animals in Africa and have enjoyed writing facts about their favourite animal. They will be using these facts to write a book next week.
In maths the reception children have been focusing on the numbers 9 and 10. They have been using different medium to explore 2 numbers that are added together to make 9 and 10.
In RE the children learnt about what they can see in a church and what happens in a church. They had ago at drawing All Saints church.
In music the children enjoyed playing games and they listened to carnival of the animals. The children had to guess which animal the composer was illustrating.
Today the children had a visit from a nurse. she reminded the children about the importance of brushing their teeth and dental hygiene. The children had lots of fun and she was impressed with their knowledge.
Next week is going to be very busy, with a visit from Rodbaston animal zone and VE Day.
