What a fantastic first week back we've had in class – it's been a whirlwind of brilliant activities! In Maths, we dove straight into the world of volume and capacity. The sunshine even joined us at the start of the week as we headed outdoors to get hands-on measuring different amounts of water with jugs. It was great to see everyone so engaged!
Our English lessons have also been exciting as we've started exploring our new book, 'Flood'. This captivating picture book is unfolding page by page each day, inspiring us to craft complex sentences filled with powerful verbs.
Tuesday saw a highlight of the week as we welcomed our families into the classroom for our Maths and Spelling workshop. It was a wonderful afternoon showcasing how we tackle multiplying and dividing larger numbers, as well as our strategies for learning those tricky spellings. Thank you to everyone who came along!
Then, on Thursday, the show field was buzzing with energy as we took part in the mini marathon event. It was so inspiring to see so many children reaching their target lap count and even more impressive to see some smashing their goals! Well done to each and every one of you who participated.
Finally, in Geography, we've embarked on a fascinating journey following the course of a river, from its upper to the middle and lower sections. We had great fun learning the names of the different river features by playing a lively game of Go Fish!
All in all, it's been a super fun-packed first week back at school. A huge well done to everyone for throwing themselves into all the activities with such enthusiasm!
