Our Summer Term 1 is over already. With plenty of extra-curricular opportunities such as a netball tournament and Summer concert, it has been a wonderful start to the summer.
We have finished our maths unit of ratio by looking at similar shapes, and solving problems involving ration and proportion. In English we produced diary entries based on our trips to Packington Farm on Friday. We also drafted a piece of creative writing based on an enchanted library.
In RE, we explored the festival of Vaisakhi, also called Baisakhi, which is a significant festival for Sikhs that commemorates the founding of the Khalsa Panth in 1699. To show this, we produced a comic strip about how Sikhs celebrate this special.
In Science, we have been learning about our eyes and their components such as: the pupil, iris, sclera, optic nerve and retina. We also investigated shadows, how they are formed, and used shadow puppets to see how they can be manipulated.
In PE, we played rounders and it was very impressive how quickly the fielding improved and communication developed throughout the game.
I hope everyone has a wonderful break from school and is raring to go for the final half-term of the academic calender!
