This week, we kicked off the week with our transition mornings on Monday, spending valuable time with our new teachers and classmates for next year, engaging in various activities to prepare for the exciting journey ahead. In Maths, we delved into the world of money, focusing on estimating amounts. While initially challenging as we instinctively wanted exact figures, we quickly grasped the importance of this practical skill. We also honed our abilities in adding and subtracting money, tackling pounds and pence separately to ensure accuracy. Our English lessons saw us mastering the art of building suspense in our writing and we thoroughly enjoyed reading Chapter 5 of Narnia and tackling comprehension questions. In Geography, we became intrepid researchers, investigating the highest peaks in the United Kingdom using topographical maps. We also explored different land uses and engaged in a lively class debate about the potential impact of building a supermarket in Kings Bromley, with "for" and "against" teams presenting compelling arguments. To round off a brilliant week, we had the pleasure of watching the fantastic Year 5 and 6 end-of-year play on Friday. What a truly brilliant week for Class 3!
