Class 3 have had a brilliant week filled with lots of adventure and wonder!
In English, we have begun our unit on non-chronological reports linked to our history topic: Anglo Saxons! At the beginning of the week, we identified the main features of a non-chronological report and practiced a range of literary skills such as using apostrophes for possession and using prepositional phrases for cause.
In Maths, we started our unit: length and perimeter. Many of the children are able to identify equivalent measurements and state how many millimetres are in a cm. We used a range of equipment such as rulers and meter sticks to measure a range of objects. At the end of the week, the children were quizzed on their knowledge outdoors by working groups to identify when we would measure in kilometres, metres and centimetres.
In the wider curriculum, the Year 3s developed their core strength, balance and jumping in PE whilst the Year 4s ventured to their weekly swimming lesson. At the end of the week, we learnt new songs in preparation for the music concert that we will be attending in March.
Across the school, we have considered how we can enhance an inclusive environment. At home, discuss with your parents/guardians one this that you have done this week to do this using the sentence stem: This week, I have __________ because_______.
