Well done Class 3 on a great start to the term and, for some of you, beginning your KS2 journey!

We have settled into routines well and enjoyed sharing exciting summer holiday adventures- we noticed a lot of holidays to France! This week in Maths, we have begun our topic 'Place Value'. First we practiced representing numbers 0-1000 using place value counters and number fans. Then, we learnt how to partition three-digit numbers using part-whole models.

In English, the whole school has been focusing on Flotsam by David Wiesner. We created imaginative acrostic poems and considered how the key messages relate to our school values. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed wondering what the boy might NOT have in his sandcastle bucket. Also, we commenced our first topic, 'World War 1', where we learnt why poppies are used as a symbol of remembrance, and each designed a poppy for our class display.

On the whole, a fantastic week and a terrific team! Enjoy a restful, wonderful weekend.
