It has been really lovely to welcome the children back to school this week and hear about what they got up to during in the Christmas holiday. It has been lucky that snow fell this week, helping the children to understand how winter affects people, transport and the way we live. Please support us by helping your child to understand what the different seasons are and the changes that come with each season.
The children have enjoyed learning about the Artic and Antarctica. They have learnt about penguins in the south and Inuit people in the north. Preschool made lovely finger print penguin pictures.
In music we listened to Vivaldi’s winter and explored making winter sounds with our instruments.
In monster phonics we moved on to ch, sh and th.
Preschool have enjoyed using our new magic sand and have been using it to make different letters.
We have sung nursery rhymes and had a go at rhyming words.
Please continue to help us reinforce the new sounds and words taught by hearing your child read as often as is possible.
In maths the children explored zero and numbers 1-5
We hope you have a lovely weekend and if it does snow, we would love the children to bring in pictures of themselves playing in the snow!
Stay safe and warm
