It has been a week to remeber. Everyone at Richard Crosse are so proud of the resillience shown by the children this week as they have continued to learn even through such extreme heat. Through being sensible and calm at breaktimes to having plenty of drinks breaks, lessons had been able to continue through til Friday afternoon.

Between the drink breaks and time outside cooling in the shade, we have managed to carry on with our mathematics topic of shape by learning rules about angles around a point. Such as, they always add up to 360 degrees and that vertically opposite angles are equal.

In English, we have been reading through Thief. One memorable lesson involved creating freeze frames from significant chapters in the book and children explaining how their character was feeling at that moment in time. This led to great oracy on display and thoughtful remarks about potentially conflicting emotions that characters may be feeling at one time.

Play practice has been extremely enjoyable with the whole class getting into role. The words have begun having greater emphasis and clarity whilst staging positions are remembered.

Please have a lovely weekend. Stay safe and continue to learn your lines!
