What a fantastic week we have had in class, packed full of wonderful learning, giggles, and creative effort! In our English lessons, we dove headfirst into the world of traditional tales with the classic story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children loved re-enacting Goldilocks' adventures, but the real magic happened when they put pencil to paper. We have been focusing on structuring our writing into a clear beginning, middle, and end. It has been a joy to watch the children take such pride in their presentation, taking extra care with their neat handwriting to keep letters uniform on the lines. We also gave full stops and capital letters a huge push, ensuring every sentence was properly polished before moving on to porridge-sampling and bed-testing in their writing. Our History lesson was undoubtedly a highlight for everyone as we explored how we can learn about our own pasts. The classroom was filled with awe and excitement as the children opened up their special memory boxes and shared their personal artefacts with the rest of the class. The hospital identification bracelets from when they were first born caused quite a stir! The children found it absolutely hilarious to think they were ever tiny enough to fit into them, leading to some wonderful, thoughtful discussions about how much they have grown and changed since they were babies. We also took full advantage of the mild weather for our PE sessions, heading outside onto the MUGGA to get active and expertly dodge a few passing showers. The children showed brilliant energy and enthusiasm, making the absolute best of the fresh air. Thank you so much for helping your children gather such wonderful items for their memory boxes this week—having those real connections to their own histories made the learning come alive.
