It has been a wonderful and productive week in Class 4. The children have shown exceptional dedication to their studies while consistently demonstrating our school values of love, respect, and friendship.
English
In English, pupils explored The Shadow Cage in greater detail, analysing atmospheric techniques and recapping essential Upper Key Stage 2 grammatical features. Working in the spirit of friendship and teamwork, the class crafted a collaborative shared story about a character named Beth who discovers a mysterious door.
Mathematics
Our mathematicians focused on rounding integers of any size. To ensure accuracy, the pupils successfully created their own step-by-step methods to solve rounding problems consistently. They also expanded their numerical fluency by counting forwards and backwards through zero.
Science and Computing
In Science, the children took on the role of practical investigators during an experiment exploring soluble and insoluble materials. In Computing, pupils examined both the positive and negative aspects of online communication. This lesson strongly linked to our school value of respect, as the class discussed the importance of kindness and courtesy within digital spaces.
Geography and French
In Geography, the children investigated global population dynamics by studying birth and death rates. Meanwhile, in French, pupils learned to describe physical appearances, focusing on hair and eye colours.
Throughout all of these activities, the children displayed a genuine love of learning and supported their peers with great encouragement.
