December is already upon us and we have had a week packed full of learning. In Maths, we have been mastering short and long division showing great resillience.
I have been blown away by the formal, persuasive letters drafted in Class 4 this week. The use of a formal register whilst using appropriate modal verbs and emotive language makes them read superbly. Next week, we will use the correct organisational features to publish our edited pieces.
We have completed our termly spelling bee in class and have selected our year 5 and year 6 winners.
In Science, we investigated the different orbits of planets and their moons. On Wednesday, we also completed our own research on planets and presented these to the class throughout the week.
This week has also been significant for our knitting unit as many have now mastered knitting with either needles or their fingers. Mrs Fullwood was particularly impressed by those who finished their knits at home and brought them in the following day. The passion showed towards this skill has been wonderful to see.
