Well, what an incredibly busy and utterly brilliant week it has been here at school! The children have been working their socks off and truly deserve a restful weekend after all their efforts. We’ve had performances, celebrated the festive season, and shown off some amazing academic progress. This week, the children became true stars of the stage! Monday saw us perform our wonderful play for the rest of the school. The audience was fantastic, and the children were so excited to share their hard work. Tuesday was the big day for our parents! We were delighted to welcome so many of you for not one, but two performances. We can proudly say that the children definitely acted their little hearts out! Their confidence and enthusiasm were a joy to behold, and they told their story with such energy and commitment. A huge well done to every single performer! In our English lessons, the focus was on bringing a familiar tale to a close: We successfully finished our unit on the classic story, Pinocchio. The children then completed their 'big writes', where they got to retell the entire story in their own words. It has been wonderful to see their storytelling skills, vocabulary, and understanding of narrative structure shine through in these final pieces. They have truly embraced the challenges of sophisticated writing! The art and craft tables have been buzzing with activity this week as we’ve turned our attention to the festive season and celebrated our history projects! We’ve been getting beautifully messy making some gorgeous Christmas crafts using pine cones. These will make lovely decorations! On Thursday, we were so pleased to invite parents in to view our stunning clay creations. The children made beautiful clay pots in the style of Wedgewood, and the detail and care they put into them were exceptional. Thank you to everyone who came to admire their artistry! Finally, we had a very special and meaningful end to the week as we all went to church for our Christingle and end-of-term service. It was a lovely, reflective moment to pause and celebrate the meaning of Christmas and the end of a busy term together as a school community.
