It has been a week full of hard work and resillience in Class 4 as we have undertaken our end of year assessments. WIth great pride, our class demonstrated all the impressive progress they have made this year.

Across the rest of the curriculum, we have enjoyed outdoor learning with Ms Partington. Showing great creativity, we have contributed more towards our Green Power project. In English, we have published our Beowulf stories with joined and consistent handwriting, remembering to include our corrected spellings and edits.

We also piqued our curiosities by learning about crime and punishment in history. Using our comparisson skills, we investigated how this has changed throughout different time periods and civilisations. Demonstrating wonderful oracy skills, we acted out crimes from the Victorian, Roman and Medieval periods showing how these criminals would be captured and then punished accordingly.

It has been a short, yet packed, half term and I hope everyone can get a rest so they have the energy required for a significant and memorable Summer 2.

Topic for Talk - to support our focus on oracy, below is a question linked to our learning this week to discuss with your child.

Why do you think crime and punishment has changed so much over time?
