Welcome to summer term 2. We hope you had a lovely break and we have enjoyed hearing from the children about what they got up to over the holidays. Thank you if you sent in some pictures.

This week the reception children have moved on to learning about vowels and consonants. They have had a go at writing some CVCC words in their sentences.

Preschool have been focusing on the phoneme s.

They have been using chalk and play-dough to form this letter and have been practising writing this letter using the tripod grip.

We began learning about the seaside past and present.

The children really enjoyed listening to Britten’s storm music and creating their own storm music. We had fun singing ‘I do like to be beside the seaside!’

The children made seaside scenes in craft.

In maths, the reception children have explored numbers beyond 10 and then beyond 20. Preschool have explored the composition of numbers to 5.

Today we ate the potatoes that we planted in the spring!

Have a lovely weekend!

Please make sure that your child always has their coat with them at school.
